Results Of The First Matches Played In The Mini Stadia, Surulere.

After the commissioning of Paddington Mini Stadium and Love Garden Mini Stadium by Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila (Speaker Of The House Of Representatives, representing Surulere Constituency 1) on Saturday, 2nd of November, 2019 a friendly match was played on the two Mini Stadia by residents of Surulere after the Speaker himself accompanied by Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Guest of Honour) scored the first ever goal on both fields. At Paddington Mini Stadium, Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila made several passes to each other before Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila converted the last pass to a goal after dribbling the goal keeper, his goal marked the beginning of a New Era in Grassroots Football in Surulere. After the Speaker’s goal, PADDINGTON ALL STARS played against DE LAPE FC, the match ended 3-1 with DE LAPE FC thrashing PADDINGTON ALL STARS in a very interesting match. The first goal in the friendly match was scored by Keshinro Omotayo of DE LAPE FC and the goal is the first ever goal on Paddington Mini Stadium after the Speaker’s goal (for commissioning of the Mini Stadium). After Keshinro’s goal, Dorego Toheeb of DE LAPE FC scored another goal making it 2-0, within a couple of minutes, Ajenifuja Gbenga of PADDINGTON ALL STARS scored a goal to make it 2-1, while the play was still intense and DE LAPE FC were holding possession, another pass was made to Keshinro Omotayo and he didn’t hesitate to convert it into a goal, making it 3-1 which was the full time score.

Also, at Love Garden Mini Stadium, the friendly match was between LOVE GARDEN TEAM and MULAMAN FC, the final score was 2-1, MULAMAN FC won the match after a fantastic display of football skills and knowledge by both teams.

  1. Oh gosh,It’s a shame and signs of
    neglection and retiringg from sports activities makes both home teams were beaten in the first opening match in their own community mini stadia and could not also score first,oh!!! there’s need for buckling up.
