Surulere Local Government Chairman Presents Budget Of Consolidation To The 8th Legislative Arm Of Government.

The Executive Chairman, Hon Tajudeen Ajide, on Wednesday 24th of April, 2019 presented an all inclusive Budget with a total sum of #2,581,332,823(Two Billion Five hundred and Eighty one Million,three hundred and twenty three Naira only), tagged “BUDGET OF CONSOLIDATION ” to the Legislative Arm of the Council.

In his speech as read by the Secretary to the Local Government, Prince Muiz Adewale Dosumu, he enumerated the various achievement of his administration in the last year, these include Rehabilitation of Masha Roundabout, Rehabilitation of Ogunlana/Olufemi junction, Oyekan street, Oyekan lane, Alhaji Ade Thanni street, Ogunmola Close, Replacement of Obele Oniwala Primary School Roof, Construction of Customary Court at Benson street amongst others. He promised not to rest on his oars until Surulere is taken to an enviable position.

The 2019 Budget of Consolidation is aimed towards achieving and improving on service delivery and provision of meaningful infastrustural projects that will transform the environment. It is focused on improvement of Road network, provision of Street Light, Security, Empowerment programmes, Promotion of Sporting activities, Health Services, Education, Environments and Staff Welfare etc.

The summary of the Budget was stated as follows , the total sum of #1.210bn will be utilized to defray personnel Cost Expenses for both the Local Government Staff and Teachers Salaries, which represents 47% of the total Budget, the overhead cost will gulp #654m,which represent 25% of the Budget, Capital project will cost #717.3m represent 28% of the total Budget under which includes Roads Construction and Rehabilitations, Drainages, Street Lights, Water Projects, Empowerment, Education and Health Facilities.

In her response, the Leader of the House, Hon. Barakat Bakare Akande said, both Arms of Government have enjoyed tremendous partnership and all effort will be put in place to continue with the synergy between the two Arms of Government. She thanked the Chairman for the honour of representing the Budget to the House.

Hon Shakirudeen Ajao, Chairman, All Progressive Congress (APC) Surulere, gave Kudos to the administration of Hon Ajide and commended the Councillors for supporting the administration.

The event was well represented with attendance of Party Leaders, Past and Serving Political Office Holders, Executive Members, Management and Staff.
